教材解析
本单元讨论的主题是“传说和故事”,其功能项目是讲故事(tell a story)。语言目标是要求学生用连词unless,as soon as,以及so„that结构的用法。分为section A,
section B,Self Check三个部分。本单元内容与实际生活息息相关,是学生感兴趣的话题。
本节课是围绕story来展开话题的一个单元,分为五个课时。本节课为本单元第课时,主要以西方的神话故事<<糖果屋>>为话题,让学生能听懂故事,并能用英语为他人讲述故事。
学情分析
学生是学习的主体,对学生情况的分析是教学工作的关键环节。八年级学生的特点:八年级学生经过一年多系统的英语学习,具备了一点的听说基础,正逐步向读,写过渡,通过一年多新课程理念的熏陶和实践,有了初步自主合作,分析归纳的能力。并处于知识积累,前后知识衔接,培养良好的学习习惯的关键时期。大部分学生对英语有一点兴趣,但由于知识的安排由浅入深,有少数学生对这门学科产生了厌恶心理,消除学生厌学情绪,激发学生兴趣至关重要。   
教学设计理

本节课通过屏幕,展示<<糖果屋>>的动画视频,导入新课,让学生对故事有一定的了解,并预测故事的发展来激发学生,参与学习的兴趣,是新课导入的关键。既扩宽了学生的知识面,让学生了解了更多的故事,同时竞赛的形式更能活跃课堂气氛。
 
单元目标
 
1.语言目标:扩大词汇量,掌握动词的过去式,理解课文,熟练运用词汇,了
解如何讲述英语故事。
2.技能目标:训练学生运用所学知识进行听、说、读、写的综合能力。
3.情感目标:让学生充分运用讲故事的句型讲述童话故事,培养学生学习英语
的乐趣。 单元重点 1.能够用英语讲故事。
2.能够迅速准确地从所给材料中获取信息。 3.动词过去式的用法。 单元难点
 
1. 能够从听力材料中获取信息 2. 掌握讲故事的固定句型。 3. 熟练运用所学的连词。 4. 状语从句的运用。

知识目标
1) 能掌握以下单词和短语: stepmother, wife, husband, whole, scene, stone, shine, bright, as soon as  2) 能掌握以下句型:
① One year, the weather was so dry that no food would grow.  ② We thought you were never coming back. 
③ It’s leading us to that wonderful house made of bread, cake and sugar. 
④ The wife told her husband that unless he left the children to die in the forest, the whole family would die. 
⑤ As soon as you wake up, you must go to the forest with your father.  
能力目标
让学生充分运用课本剧的表演讲述童话故事,培养学生学习英语的乐趣。
情感目标
多阅读中外传统文学名著,让学生们明白文化的博大、精深,开阔自己眼界。了解中西文化的核心思想是宣扬人性的真善美!
Learning activities  Designing purposes 
 
Preparation  
1.Give a mind map, summarize the fairy tales that we learned. 2. Watch a video and ask some questions. A. Which story is the video about ? B. What happened next?
C. What should you do if something like this happens to you?
1.Stimulate interest and introduce new lessons.
2.Lead students to know the background of the fairy tale.
Fast reading
Read the play quickly and finish task : Match each description with the correct scene. Guide the students to  practice skimming the main idea of the play and help the students to paint a whole picture of the play
in mind.

Careful  reading
Read the play again , find the supporting details and finish task
2: Put the key words from each scene into the baskets.
 
Help students to get a better
understanding of scanning the
detailed information .
Act out the play
Let students act out the play as actors . Choose the order of the performance. Give students some time to prepare.
 Help the students master the play and develop the ability of telling stories. 
Etended learning 
Rewriting
1.Write the ending of the play and act them out.(A sad or
happy ending is ok.)  
Develop the ability of writing
with imagination .
Summary
The Chinese fairy tales are different from western fairy tales, but they all remind us the same life philosophy. Understand the philosophy of life.
