1.Teaching targets: 
A . Knowledge targets: master words and phrases about art

full of life, aim to do, be known for/as/to, be/get tired of, be crazy about, be fond of, develop an interest in, tell by   B. Ability targets 
① To let Ss master some reading skills (to get the main idea, how to find out the structure of a passage,improve Ss’ ability of skimming and scanning). 
② To help Ss to express their opinions about the world famous artists and their paintings. 
C. Emotional targets: 
To develop Ss’ interest or taste in art and learn to enjoy famous works. 2.Teaching important and difficult points: 
 master some words and phrases about artists and their paintings 
 to express their opinions about the world famous artists and their paintings. 3.Teaching methods: 
Fast reading, skimming, scanning 4.Teaching aids: Multi-media, pictures. 5.Teaching Procedures: Step 1.Lead-in 
Enjoy a video about Qi Baishi and his paintings 引起学生对艺术的兴趣,并且自然导入艺术的话题。 Step2. Reading 
1. Fast-reading (Two tasks) 
Task1 Ask students to show other artists they know. Task2  
 
 
 
 
Match paintings 1-4 with descriptions in paragraphs A-D  
Say which paintings are mentioned in paragraphs E (   )and F(   ). Divide the passage into 2 parts. 
Part1: descriptions of  _____ famous artists 
Part2: two students'  _______  about some of the works 让学生对整篇文章的结构有一个大概的了解  2.Scanning  Part 1 (Two tasks) 
Task1.Read paragraphs A-D again and choose the correct answer 
通过做这类型题,训练学生寻读的阅读能力,进一步加深对文章内容的把握。 Task2 
 Let students fill in the blanks according to the text and show the answers with the form of interview. Requirements: 
one student acts as one of four artists ,another student sticks the answers to the blackboard ,other students act as reporters.

 Read paragraphs E-F and choose the correct answer 4. Some useful expressions 
Let students know about some useful expressions about likes and dislikes 本环节让学生初步接触表达喜好的短语和句型,为下一环节做铺垫。 5.Auction  Requirements: 
Seller make an introduction to the painting by completing Exercises A B C D in the learning paper 
Buyers express their likes and dislikes using the given phrases
