Steps Teaching procedure

Purposes 
Warming-up 1. Enjoy some pictures with background music on To arouse the students’ interest and get the students relaxed Pre-reading 
1. Read the title "Pollution Fighters" and look at the pictures beside the text and think about a question: Who are pollution fighters?  
3. Do a quiz about trees 
To develop the students' ability of predicting  
To guide the students to get ready for the following learning  
 
While-reading 1. Read the introduction and Line 1-4 and answer some questions.  
2. Find what good trees are (Line 5-24) and retell it.  
3. Learn some fun facts about trees through T or F and question - answering   
4. Tell the situation of trees.  
5. Discuss how to protect trees and show some measures which can be taken To help the students to practice reading skills for gist, specific information 
and 
detailed 
understanding through various reading activities    
To arouse students' awareness of protecting trees  
To help the students to develop their ability of speaking 
 
Post-reading 
1. Help Judy finish the report.  
2. Know the importance of taking care of trees To examine whether the students have known the text well and call on students to protect trees Assignment 
Oral work:  
   Read the text at least twice. Written work:  
   Write at least 60 words about Trees.       1. What do you think of trees?  Why?      2. How can we protect trees?
