设计主题
1.整体设计思路、指导依据说明
现代教学理论认为,在教学过程中,学生是学习的主体,教师是学习的组织者、言道者,教学的一切活动都必须以强调学生的主动性、积极性为出发点。根据这一教学理念,结合本节课的内容特点和学生的年龄特征,本节课我采用情境引入法,直观教学法、任务驱动法以及讲练结合的教学方法,以问题的提出、问题的解决为主线,始终在学生知识的“最近发展区”设置问题,倡导学生主动参与教学实践活动,以独学对学群学的形式,给学生流出足够的思考时间和空间,让学生去探索,从真正意义上完成对知识的自我建构。
另外,在教学过程中,我采用多媒体辅助教学,以直观呈现教学素材,从而更好地激发学生的学习兴趣,增大教学容量,提高教学效率。
在本节课上,我充分发挥教师的引导作用,以便真正实现学生的主体地位,在第一环节创设情境阶段,为了让学生更深刻的理解词汇,调动学生情绪,我引导学生由所熟知的话题——运动项目,引入话题,由易到难,逐层深入。首先,为了使学生能更好的理解和接受,我从学生周围入手,以运动话题和照片为导入,让学生用所学过的词汇和句子阐明观点,不让学生感觉阅读课的枯燥,而是在开始便吸引他们的注意力,增强他们对本课知识内容的探求欲,接着展示本单元的主题-----篮球的图片,要求学生用新词汇描述,从而导入新词汇的学习。
在深入探究阶段,分层次学习阅读课。一,略读,找出文章的主旨。通过自己找,同桌讨论,小组讨论的方式,推出找出主旨可以读首尾段的首句。二,寻读,回答问题,学生通过找关键词找出问题的答案,而且促进了文章段落的理解。三,精读,解决难题。给学生呈现各种各样的问题包括表格,让学生经过自学、合作、讨论、探究,发现解决问题。四,和老师一起完成思维导图,并选择三大主旨进行回顾。在这一认知过程中,以自学整理,集体研究的多样学习方式带动学生。我利用呈现、引导等各种教学策略激活学生的思维,让学生学会用思维导图整理所学内容。五,自己设计思维导图,并且根据自己的思维导图讲解篮球的发展史。过程中可以让学生全面感受,独立探究,更加深入透彻的理解阅读策略,最后思维导图加讲解是对知识点的巩固过程,又是对阅读吸收并转化为学生自身能力的过程,是本节课的重点环节。
在迁移深化阶段,通过层层训练,强化学生对阅读文章的理解和掌握,如,读前的引导,读中的略读,寻度,精读,读后的思维导图。把所学知识应用于实践,培养了学生创新和实践的能力,从而使学生所学知识和技能得到升华,学以致用。总之,通过认真的思考备课,在尽力发挥学生的潜能与优势的基础上,由简到繁,层层深入,循序渐进的活动,逐步给学生设置不同高度的“桃子”,启发、诱导,让学生跳一跳,一步步得到更大的收获。
课程借助多媒体辅助教学,实物及实物投影,创设多种情境,让学生在实践中完成学习任务。
2.教学背景分析
教学内容分析:本节课是人教版新目标 初三英语第九单元第四部分的阅读内容,是本单元前三部分知识的升华,是单元教学的延续。本节课主要讲篮球的发明,发展情况。本单元的语法点是被动语态,因此文中出现了大量的被动语态的句子,通过阅读文章,学生能有效地感悟被动语态的用法,通过本节课的学习,学生能对思维导图形成感性的认识,并在今后的学习中能有意识地使用该学习策略。
3.教学目标分析
教学目标:(1) 围绕“basketball”(篮球),让全体学生能够理解本文大意及文中所包含的语言知识,并渗透“热爱体育,珍惜生命”的德育理念,增强学生的社会荣誉感及爱国主义教育。
(2)学生通过解答各种问题可以归纳总结出阅读策略,让学生接受“mind-mapping”学习策略,知道信息与图像的转换,学会写出总结(summary),提升学生综合技能。
4.教学重点、难点分析
教学重点: 培养学生阅读理解能力,以及运用英语完成指定任务的能力。
教学难点:学生运用英语交流信息,获取信息能力的提高。

    Q3. Can you list eight sports played in China?
Purpose of my design: 
(1) Lead in the topic and catch Ss’ attention about the topic.
(2) It is a connecting link between the preceding and the following.
Step Ⅱ Pre-reading
 
Task1. Let students look at some pictures and talk about the sports in the picture.
Q1: What’s your favorite sport? 
    Q2: Who’s your favorite sports star?
    Q3: Do you know how to play basketball?
Purpose of my design: 
(1) It is close to students’ life, so it can make them interested in the next studying.
  (2) Let Ss have the desire to read further
Task2. Look at a picture and name the basketball equipment.
 
Purpose of my design: (1) to stimulate students’ interest in reading.
(2) To provide the necessary background knowledge.
(3) To lead in the topic
It is a preparing for Ss’ output. 
Step Ⅲ While-reading
Task 1 Skimming
 
 T: Please look through the passage maybe it’s a good idea to read the first sentences in each paragraph and find out the main ideas? 
After two minutes, students got the answer: The passage mainly talks about the popularity /invention/development of basketball 
Purpose of my design: lead students to know skimming is useful for them to find out the main idea of a passage.
Task2 Scanning 
read the first and second paragraph and answer the questions
 
The main idea of these two paragraphs is the popularity of basketball 
Purpose of my design: 
1) Lead students to know the strategy of scanning, let them learn to scan the useful I information they need
(2) Let students learn about something important about the popularity of basketball
Task3 detailed reading
(1) Read the following two paragraphs and answer the questions 
 
(2) Read the passage again and fill in the chart about the inventor of basketball
 
The main idea of the paragraphs is the invention of basketball
Purpose of my design: 
(1)Enable students to understand the given material better by using different reading skills. 
(2)To make students get language information, and master reading recipes in the process of reading
Task 4 detailed reading
The main idea of the last paragraph is the development of basketball, please read it carefully to choose T or F, and correct the false sentences.
 
Purpose of my design:
(1)Make students be able to gain knowledge of time and space order
(2)Lead students to be able to infer the implied meaning according to the given meaning
Step Ⅳ post-reading 
 
Task1.lead students to finish the mind map with the teacher step by step.
Task2.Tell students to choose one of the main ideas of basketball to introduce with the help of mind map.
 Purpose of my design:
(1) Train Ss’ ability of making a mind map
 (2) It’s the Output of their knowledge. I think if the Ss can finish this task well, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English.
Task3 comprehensive activities
Please make your own mind map and retell the passage according to it
Purpose of my design:
(1)Summary what they have learnt from this lesson.
(2)To make students think through the mind map to consolidate students’ content, language and formal schemata
(3)Develop the students’ ability of speaking and writing through reading
StepⅤ Homework
 
Oral: make a mind map about basketball and introduce for us next class
Written: write a passage to a club 
Purpose of my design:
I divided homework into two parts as oral homework and written homework to improve their oral English and writing ability.
6.教学评价设计
In my opinion, it is successful. My reasons are as follows:
Firstly, the teaching aims were quite clear. All the activities were focused on the theme “reading strategies” and were developed to reach the teaching goal——“Enable the students to master the ways of extensive reading and read in details.
Secondly, task-based teaching method and making a mind map were adopted successfully.  
Thirdly, in this lesson I designed different activities to arouse the students’ interests of learning English. Such as: skimming, scanning, detailed reading and mind map. The students were eager to speak and use English in class. 
In addition, I think, the most shinning point of this lesson is—making a mind map and introducing it to others. It is a new way for students to practice their spoken English. The students became more interested and more active in thinking and using.
Well, we will say: no class is perfect. Yes. I think, as a teacher, we should pay more attention to the students who are not good at English. We should encourage them more. Give them more chances to speak and use English. I think, with more encouragement, they are sure to make greater progress in the future.

Unit9 When was it invented?
Section B Reading-Do you know when basketball was invented?
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.
    I’d like to begin this representation with six parts .Analysis of the teaching material, analysis of the students, the teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure and the teaching reflections.
Part1 Analysis of the teaching material
The content of my lesson is Go for it Grade 9 Unit9When was it invented? Section B Reading Do you know when basketball was invented? The text mainly talks about basketball including the history, the rules; the popular trend of equipment needed for playing basketball, the grammar point is the passive voice. By reading the article, students can effectively comprehend the use of the passive voice. This lesson seepage of learning strategies is the mind - map, hope that after studying the lesson, students can form an infiltrated knowledge of the strategy, and in the future study they can consciously use the learning strategies.
Teaching Aims
According to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus, and after studying the teaching material, I think the teaching aims are the followings:
(1) Around "basketball", make students be able to comprehend the effect of this article and to equip students with knowledge of the language and moral education of "love sports, cherish life".
(2) By finishing the tasks, students can summarize reading strategies, make students accept the learning strategy of mind-map; learn to write a summary to enhance the students' comprehensive skills.
Now let’s come to the important and difficult points
The Important and Difficult Points.
Based on the requirement of the syllabus
The important point is about mastering the passage, knowing the main ideas of reading, learning about the history of basketball.
The difficult points are how to master reading strategies and make a mind map
Part2 Analysis of the students
The students are junior students of Grade 9.They have a certain ability of English. Some students are not active and confident in class, some students have trouble reading, and they are poor in reading strategies, so I’ll have students study in a relaxed atmosphere.
Part3 Teaching Methods
As we know, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help students develop good sense of the English language. For achieving these teaching aims and after the analysis of the teaching material and teaching aims, I will use the following methods according to the modern social communication teaching theories.

According to the situation of the students and teaching aims. I’ll teach Ss how to be successful language learners by these ways:
