教学目标
1.      Enable the students to read the new words: ring, pencil box, dictionary, pencil sharpener, baseball, watch, ID card and notebook.
2.      Enable the students to make use of the new words with the sentence patterns “Is this/ that your…? ” and “Are these/ those your …?”
3.      Help the students to make a conversation with the new words and sentence patterns on the pad.
2学情分析
本节课面向的学生为7年级刚入学的新生,英语基础一般,层次中等,班里面有不同层次的学生。初一学生好动活泼,但对于英语口语还不太自信,因此,这节课有足够的铺垫和创设有趣的情景,让学生敢于开口训练口语。
3重点难点
Teaching importance:
1.      Students can read the new words and make use of them with the sentence patterns.
2.      Students can have fun using the language and improve their confidence in speaking English.
 
Teaching difficulties:
1.      Set the scene of Lost and found and students can find the owners of the things by asking questions.
2.      Arouse the interest of speaking English by some games and activities with the pad.

4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Step 1: Lead-in
1.      Learning goals
a.      New words: ring, dictionary, pencil sharpener
b.      New structure: Is this/ that your …? Are these/ those your …?
2.      Show what I have I my new bag and show the new words.
活动2【导入】Step2: input
1.      Brain-storming: ask the students to show the things around them.
         This is my _________. / These are my _________.
2.      List the new words we mentioned just now and review.
         (book, baseball, key, ring, watch, ID card, notebook, pen, ruler, dictionary, pencil sharpener. eraser and schoolbag)
3.      Make sentences with the new words. In this practice, students should pay attention to the singular form and the plural form o  f a noun. Practise the new words and structure at the same time.
4.      Guessing game (group work)
         Rules: a. students can choose one thing they know  b. ask the teacher to figure out if they are right by “Is that your … ?/ Are those your …?”
         Activity: Students are going to discuss in two minutes for the answers
5.      Conclusion of the structure
          a.      Is this/ that … ?  Yes, it is. / No, it isn’t.
          b.      Are these/ those … ? Yes, they are. / No. they aren’t.
          指示代词this, that 用于疑问句时,一般用 it 回答; 
          指示代词these, those 用于疑问句时,一般用 they 回答。
6.      Make a conversation: pair work (share the screen with the students on the pad)
         Please use the things around you to make a conversation and show us.
         Sample: A: Is this/ that your…? / Are these/ those your …?   B: Yes, … / No, …
活动3【练习】Step3: Listening tasks
 (students hand in their answers on the pad)
1.      Pre-listening: match the words with the things. (review the new words and check their spelling)
Students should hand in their work on the pad. And then, check the answers on the screen.
2.      First-listening: listen and circle the things you hear: ID card, watch, pen and baseball.
Students should hand in their work on the pad. And then, check the answers on the screen.
3.      Second-listening: listen again and finish the information card.
Students should hand in their work on the pad. And then, check the answers on the screen.

5.    Read aloud: read the passages again and comprehend
      Passage 1
      L: I lost my watch this morning.
      M: OK. Is this your watch?
      L: No, it isn’t. That’s my watch.
      M: Here you are.
      L: And that’s my ID card.
      M: OK. What’s your name?
      L: Linda.
      Passage 2
      M: That’s my pen.
      T: This?
      M: Yes … and that’s my baseball.
      T: All right. What’s your name?
      M: Mike.
       T: OK. Here’s your baseball.
      M: Thank you.

Step 4: Role-play
1.      Lost and Found case: suppose that this is a Lost and Found, you lost something and try to look for it.
2.      One of the student is going to be the keeper, and 3 of you to be the students.
3.      Sample dialogue: share the screen to show the sample on the pad
         Student A: Excuse me. I’m looking for my … / I lost my …
         Keeper: OK.  / All right. Is this your … ?
         Student A: No, … . That’s my … . / Yes, …
         Keeper: Here you are.
         Student A: Thank you very much.
         Student B: . . .
         Keeper:

1.      New words: ring, dictionary, pencil sharpener
2.      New phrases: excuse me, look for, here you are, all right
