教学目标
1.The objectives of knowledge
The students can listen, speak and read the words: play, letter, island, always, early, cave, win.
The students can listen, speak and read the phrases: live on, get up, wash my face, eat breakfast, clean my cave, go swimming, play sports and be good at.
The objectives of ability
The students can understand the meaning of the letter and finish the exercises.
The students can express their regular and habitual behavior in daily life.
The objectives of emotion
Cultivate students’ consciousness of caring for other people and share love with others.
2学情分析
This lesson is Part B Read and write of Unit 1 My day. It is from PEP Book 6. This unit is mainly about daily activities.
The students are in Grade 5. They are active and curious, especially interested in new things. After learning English for nearly three years, they have learned some basic English skills.
3重点难点
Key points: The meaning of the letter especially the new words      and the phrases.
Difficult points:
 1. Express students’ regular and habitual behavior in daily life.
 2. The format of writing English letters.

4.1第一学时
4.1.1教学活动
活动1【导入】Warm-up
Free talk
Guessing game: I do, you guess. 
Let students see a part of a film.
Purpose: It’s important to form relaxed environment for the students .It also provide a situation to lead in the subject.
活动2【讲授】Presentation
1.Lead to the new words. Establish a situation of going to an island to present the content of the letter. Let students read for the first time to answer three questions:
What’s his name?
Where does he live?
What’s his friend’s name?
Purpose: Situational teaching can lead the students learn proactively not passively. Their interest will be maintained.
2.Listen to the content of Robinson’s letter and fill in the blanks. Then, ask the students to read out their answers.
Purpose: Students can find out the information by reading.
3.Act like Robinson and do actions to show what he does on the island.
Purpose: Students like acting. Through acting, students will remember the phrases methodically and impressively.
4.Read the letter loudly and freely, then finish tick or cross on page 9.
活动3【练习】Practice
Write a letter to Robinson. Before they write, give them some tips about format of English letters. Then ask the students to act like Robinson to read the letters.
Purpose: Let students know the difference between Chinese culture and western culture, show them the format of writing English letters. Next, acting like Robinson can lead them feel the happiness of being loved and cared by other people.
活动4【测试】Extension
Lead students to think why Robinson’s friend is called Friday, not Monday, Tuesday or Sunday. Then, tell them the reason.
活动5【作业】Homework
If you want to be Robinson’s friend, you can write a letter to him and send it by a drift bottle.
